What others have – and what I truly need
You see what others have: money, clothes, games, friends.
Sometimes you want that too – and that’s okay.
This chapter will help you to distinguish between what you need and what you simply notice.
🛠️ Three Steps
1. Make a small clarification – for yourself
- What do I see others having?
- Which of these things do I want for myself?
- Which of these things do I truly need?
→ You may see what others have, yet still remain true to yourself.
2. Make a small decision – with care
- I may want something – but I don’t need to have it all.
- I may rejoice for others, but still remain true to myself.
- I may miss something, but I won't feel insignificant.
→ You may see – and still stay true to yourself.
3. Make a small gesture – for yourself
- Write down what you truly need – today.
- Take a small step – for yourself, not for others.
- Tell yourself: "I am enough – even without that."
→ You are perfectly fine just as you are.
🧾 Mini exercise: What I see – and what I truly need
| What others have | What I wish for | What I need | My small step |
|---|---|---|---|
| New phone | To have one too | Contact with a friend | I call him/her |
| Brand clothing | To look good | To feel comfortable | I choose something cozy |
| Many friends | To feel that I belong | A real connection | I write to someone |
→ You may see – and still stay true to yourself.
🕊️ Closing impulse
You may see – without losing yourself.
You may want something – without bending yourself.
You may rejoice for others and yet remain true to yourself.
You are perfectly fine just as you are.
