What I can afford – and what I let go
You see something beautiful. You want to have it.
But: Not everything you want is something you can afford.
This chapter will help you identify what you truly need and what you can let go of.
🛠️ Three steps
1. Make a small clarification – for yourself
- What do I wish for right now?
- Why do I want it?
- How much money do I actually have?
→ You may wish – and still reflect.
2. Make a small decision based on your own judgement
- I may want something – but I don’t have to buy everything.
- I may say: "I’ll wait."
- I may feel: "That’s too much for me right now."
→ You may be honest – with your money and your feelings.
3. Make a small gesture to help you clarify things
- Write down what you wish for – and what you can afford.
- Make a list: Now – Later – Maybe never.
- Say to yourself: "I’ll let this go – for my own well-being."
→ You may say: "Not now" – and still be strong.
🧾 Mini-exercise: What I wish for – and what I can afford
| Wish | Why? | Price | Can I afford it? | My small step |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| New headphones | Because I want to hear better | €40 | No | I’ll wait and save slowly |
| Sweets for friends | Because I want to share | €5 | Yes | I'll buy them with great joy |
| New game | Because I want to belong | €60 | No | I’ll write it down for later |
→ You may wish – and still decide with measure.
🕊️ Closing impulse
You may want something – without buying it right away.
You may let go – without feeling ashamed.
You may say: "I’ll let this go – for my own well-being."
You may manage your money carefully – with measure and clarity.
