Money coming in – understanding and using sources of money
You receive money. Maybe regularly, maybe unexpectedly.
This chapter helps you pause for a moment – and decide what you want to do with it.
🛠️ Practical tips for the moment when money comes in
1. Take a short break – before spending
- Put the money aside for 24 hours – in an envelope, an app, or a jar.
- Say to yourself: "I may decide – but not immediately."
2. Divide the money into three simple areas
- 🪙 Keep: One part stays with you – for later.
- 💬 Use: One part is for things you need or want now.
- 🔍 Observe: One part stays visible – you watch what happens with it.
→ Example: You receive €30. You divide it:
- Keep €10 (e.g. in a jar labeled with a date)
- Use €15 (e.g. for cinema, food, ticket)
- Observe €5 (e.g. in your wallet, just leave it there)
3. Write a quick note – for yourself
- Write on a slip of paper: "I received €30. I want to…"
- You don’t have to show it to anyone. It is your thought.
🧾 Mini‑exercise: Sources of money and first steps
| Source of money | Amount | First action |
|---|---|---|
| Birthday money | €50 | Keep €10, use €30, observe €10 |
| Holiday job | €120 | Save €40, €60 for clothes, €20 for leisure |
| Support | €80 | Keep €40, €20 for supplies, €20 for small wishes |
→ You may find your own measure – not someone else’s.
🕊️ Closing impulse
You receive money. You may examine it.
You may divide it – without losing it.
