I want to change something – but I get lost in comparison
You want to change something: your work, your structure, your impact.
But you look at others. They are faster. Louder. More successful.
And you ask yourself: "Am I enough?"
This chapter is not coaching. It is an impulse. For people who lose sight of themselves – and want to find themselves again.
🛠️ Three practical tools against comparison pressure
1. Self‑view card with three fields
- Create a simple card with three headings:
- What I truly can do – e.g. listening, explaining, creating
- What matters to me – e.g. calm, impact, relationships
- What I don’t need – e.g. speed, status, likes - Fill it out honestly – not perfectly.
- You may honor yourself – not measure.
2. Weekly impulse: your own measure
- Each Monday, write one sentence that describes your own measure. For example:
- "I work quietly – but with impact."
- "I am visible – even without comparison."
- "I may be slow – but I am real." - Write it on a card and place it where you can see it.
- You may remind yourself – not compare.
3. Letting go of comparison – in three steps
- When you notice comparison is paralyzing you:
- Breathe – consciously and calmly
- Write down: "That's not me. I may be different."
- Act – take one small, personal step: a pause, a sentence, a decision - You may let go – without guilt.
- You may continue – with your own measure.
🕊️ Closing impulse
You may change something – at your own pace.
You may be visible – even without comparison.
You may honor yourself – not measure.
You may continue – with your own measure.
